Kunstraum Parochial - Twelve Variations on the Resurrection
The Parochial Church in Berlin-Mitte presents a remarkable exhibition entitled "Kunstraum Parochial - Twelve Variations on the Resurrection" from February 14 to May 20, 2024.
The exhibition
In this unique art project, twelve renowned artists, including Nikolai Makarov, interpret the theme of the resurrection in various artistic forms. The works were originally created for the Stadtmuseum Berlin under the curatorial direction of Albrecht Henkys and were previously on display individually in the Museum Nikolaikirche.
Artistic Dialogue
The parish church, whose interior still bears the scars of the Second World War, becomes a symbolic exhibition space. The works of art create a dialogue between the present and eternity, between the promise of salvation and global reality. A special symbol of this connection is the triumphal cross made from scrap metal in the church.
Those interested can take part in various artist talks. Nikolai Makarov's work will be discussed specifically on March 13, 2024 at 6 p.m. in the East Conche as part of the "Encounters with Light and Shadow" event.
Admission to the exhibition is free.
